Precision Begins at the Threads
There are plenty of ways to attach a suppressor to a rifle.
Quick-detach systems. HUB-compatible adapters. Direct thread.
Each of these systems has earned its place in the shooting world, and each was designed to solve a specific problem. Some prioritize speed. Others prioritize modularity and flexibility. Some are built around the idea of moving one suppressor between multiple rifles with different configurations.
At TENET, our focus has always been a little different.
We build suppressors for hunters and precision shooters who expect their equipment to perform when it matters most. Whether that means a long hike into the backcountry, a carefully prepared shot at distance, or a rifle built around absolute consistency, every component of the system matters.
That is why every TENET suppressor we build today uses a direct thread interface.
It wasn't the easiest choice.
It wasn't the choice that offered the most versatility.
It was the choice that best aligned with our goal: creating the most consistent, lightweight, and dependable suppressor system possible.
Every Connection Matters
A suppressor isn't just something attached to the end of your rifle.
It becomes an extension of your barrel.
The moment you thread a suppressor onto your rifle, that connection becomes part of the overall shooting system. The way those components interact can influence alignment, repeatability, and the consistency you expect from every shot.
In precision shooting, small details matter.
Every additional component added between your barrel and your suppressor introduces another interface. Every interface introduces another set of tolerances. Even when every individual part is manufactured to exacting standards, those small variations can compound as more components are added together.
Think about stacking several precision-machined parts together. Each part may be manufactured perfectly within its own specifications, but every additional connection creates another opportunity for slight variation.
For many shooters, those differences may never be noticeable.
For a hunter who has spent months preparing for a single opportunity, or a precision shooter chasing the smallest possible groups, those details become increasingly important.
Direct thread keeps that system as simple as possible.
By eliminating unnecessary interfaces, we reduce variables and create a more direct connection between the rifle and the suppressor.
Simplicity Is Strength
There is something valuable about a system that does exactly what it needs to do — and nothing more.
One suppressor.
One set of threads.
One solid connection.
That's it.
A direct thread design removes the need for additional mounting hardware, locking mechanisms, or adapters between your barrel and your suppressor.
There is no extra collar to inspect.
No additional mount to purchase.
No added components to maintain.
Every piece of equipment has a purpose, and every additional piece introduces another consideration. The fewer components between your rifle and your suppressor, the fewer variables exist in the system.
When you're miles into the backcountry, carrying everything you need on your back, simplicity is more than convenience.
It's confidence.
Confidence that your equipment is ready.
Confidence that your setup is exactly how you left it.
Confidence that your rifle will perform when the opportunity finally arrives.
Less Weight. More Performance.
Every hunter understands the importance of weight.
An ounce on a workbench becomes a pound in the mountains.
A suppressor already changes the balance of a rifle by adding weight at the end of the barrel — the exact place where additional ounces are most noticeable. Adding a separate mounting system only increases that effect.
Direct thread allows us to remove unnecessary material while maintaining an incredibly secure attachment method.
That matters because lightweight performance has always been central to the TENET philosophy.
Our goal isn't simply to build a suppressor that performs well in ideal conditions.
Our goal is to build a suppressor that performs when it's carried for miles, exposed to the elements, and relied upon when it matters most.
Every design decision is made with that purpose in mind:
Build the lightest system possible without sacrificing performance.
Repeatability You Can Trust
A suppressor is only valuable if it performs consistently.
Many shooters remove their suppressor after a range session or after returning from a hunt. When it's time to reinstall it, they need confidence that their rifle will return to the same point of impact and maintain the same level of performance.
A properly installed direct thread suppressor provides exceptional repeatability by returning to the same shoulder on the barrel each time.
There are no additional mounting interfaces to account for.
No intermediary components.
No extra mechanisms between the rifle and the suppressor.
Just a precise mechanical connection designed around consistency.
For precision shooters and hunters, that confidence is invaluable.
Built for the Way We Hunt
The way a suppressor is used should influence the way it is designed.
The average backcountry hunter isn't carrying six rifles and swapping a suppressor between them throughout the day. They aren't changing muzzle devices before every stage or constantly rebuilding their setup.
They're carrying one rifle.
One suppressor.
One opportunity.
For that application, direct thread makes sense.
It is lightweight.
It is simple.
It is reliable.
And it perfectly complements the type of rifles and shooting scenarios TENET suppressors were designed around.
Our goal was never to create a system that tries to solve every possible use case.
Our goal was to create the best possible system for the shooters we serve.
Why Not HUB?
HUB systems have become popular for a reason.
They offer incredible flexibility, especially for shooters who frequently move one suppressor between multiple rifles with different muzzle devices. For that purpose, they are an excellent solution.
But flexibility was not our primary design objective.
Precision was.
When we began engineering the TENET lineup, every decision was centered around creating the lightest, most repeatable suppressor system possible for hunters and precision shooters.
That meant looking closely at every component, every connection, and every potential variable.
A HUB system adds versatility.
A direct thread system provides the simplicity and direct connection that best supports our mission.
Neither system is the answer for every shooter.
But for the rifles we build suppressors for, and the applications we designed them around, direct thread was the clear choice.
The TENET Philosophy
Every engineering decision involves compromise.
There is no perfect system that offers maximum flexibility, minimum weight, absolute simplicity, and peak performance in every possible scenario.
The best designs come from knowing what matters most.
Rather than building a suppressor that tries to do everything reasonably well, we chose to build one that excels at the things our customers value most.
Lightweight.
Repeatable.
Accurate.
Dependable.
Because when you've spent months preparing for a hunt, when you've carried your rifle through miles of terrain, and when the moment finally arrives, the last thing you should be thinking about is the equipment attached to the end of your barrel.
Final Thoughts
Direct thread isn't about tradition.
It isn't about rejecting new technology.
And it isn't about claiming one mounting system is universally better than another.
It's about making intentional decisions based on the purpose of the product.
At TENET, every choice starts with one question:
Does this make the system better for the hunter or precision shooter relying on it?
For us, direct thread was the answer.
By removing unnecessary complexity, reducing variables, and creating the most direct connection possible between rifle and suppressor, we believe it delivers the type of consistency our customers demand.
Because precision begins with every detail.
And every detail begins at the threads.
